StudyMyWay.co.za – Acceptable Use Content Policy
This Policy forms part of the StudyMyWay Terms and applies to all Content uploaded, generated, shared, forked or otherwise made available through the Service.
1. Purpose
StudyMyWay is an educational platform. This Policy keeps the platform safe, lawful, child-appropriate and useful while placing responsibility for user-supplied Content on the Parent who uploads or shares it.
2. Parent responsibility
- You are responsible for Content submitted through your Account.
- You must have the rights and permissions required for the Content and intended use.
- You must review AI-generated and Shared Content before allowing a Student to rely on it.
- You must not use StudyMyWay to bypass copyright, privacy, confidentiality or other legal restrictions.
3. Prohibited Content
You must not upload, generate, store, share or intentionally distribute:
- Child sexual abuse or exploitation material, sexualised content involving minors, or any content that sexualises children.
- Pornographic or sexually explicit material, including adult pornography.
- Extremely graphic or gratuitous violent material not reasonably related to an educational purpose.
- Content that unlawfully promotes hatred, discrimination, harassment, threats or violence.
- Content that facilitates criminal activity, fraud, identity theft or other unlawful conduct.
- Malware, ransomware, viruses, malicious scripts or files intended to compromise systems.
- Content containing another person’s personal information where you lack a lawful basis or required consent.
- Confidential information belonging to a school, employer, client, professional practice or third party where disclosure is unauthorised.
- Copyrighted or other protected material where you do not have the required rights for the intended use.
- Content that impersonates another person or deliberately misrepresents its source.
- Content intended to defame, threaten, stalk, harass or harm another person.
- Content unrelated to the educational purpose of the Service where its presence creates a material risk to users or the platform.
4. Educational exceptions
Educational relevance does not automatically make otherwise unlawful or infringing Content permitted. Parents remain responsible for obtaining any required permission and ensuring material is appropriate for their Student.
5. Personal information in documents
- Do not upload unnecessary identity documents, medical records, bank details, passwords or other sensitive information.
- Before community sharing, remove names, photographs, school identifiers, addresses, contact details, signatures and identifiable handwriting unless genuinely necessary and lawfully shareable.
- Do not share another child’s information merely because it appears in a school worksheet or scanned document.
6. Copyright
A purchased or lawfully possessed textbook, worksheet or PDF is not automatically licensed for online redistribution. Before uploading or sharing material, the Parent must determine that the intended use is permitted.
7. Community sharing
Community sharing is optional. By choosing to share, the Parent confirms that the material is lawful, appropriate, non-confidential, free of unnecessary personal information and legally shareable with other StudyMyWay users.
Shared Content may be Forked and adapted by other users as described in the Terms.
8. AI misuse
- Do not deliberately attempt to make the Service generate unlawful, abusive or harmful material.
- Do not use AI outputs as a substitute for professional advice where professional advice is required.
- Do not present AI-generated information as verified fact without appropriate review.
- Do not use AI features to process material you are prohibited from disclosing to third-party processors.
9. Security and abuse
- Do not bypass subscription limits, authentication or access controls.
- Do not probe, scan or attack the Service or infrastructure.
- Do not interfere with another user’s Account.
- Do not automate excessive requests in a way that degrades the Service.
- Do not attempt to extract or scrape private user data.
10. Reporting Content
Report potentially unlawful, inappropriate, infringing or unsafe Content to Support@studymyway.co.za with the relevant Account/chapter identifier and an explanation. Copyright complaints should follow the Copyright/Takedown Policy.
11. Moderation and enforcement
StudyMyWay may, where reasonably necessary and subject to applicable law:
- Refuse publication of Shared Content.
- Restrict or remove Content.
- Disable sharing.
- Temporarily suspend an Account.
- Terminate an Account for serious or repeated breaches.
- Preserve relevant records where required for security, legal claims or law enforcement.
We do not promise to proactively review all Content and cannot guarantee that prohibited material will never appear. The platform may rely on user reports, automated safeguards and reasonable human review.
12. Immediate action
Content may be restricted or removed without advance notice where we reasonably believe it creates a serious legal, safety, security, child-protection, copyright or platform-integrity risk.
13. Appeals
Where appropriate, the affected Parent may contact Support@studymyway.co.za to request review. StudyMyWay may request evidence of rights or lawful use.
14. Relationship with Terms
This Policy is incorporated into the Terms. If there is a conflict, the Terms govern the contractual relationship unless this Policy imposes a stricter content or safety requirement.
15. Effective date and changes
Effective date: 8 October 2026. StudyMyWay may update this Policy when necessary to address legal, safety, technical or operational changes.
